I saw your remarks and thought I would respond. You may already know this. Most Damerons/Damrons around that I hear from around Pike/Floyd county came as a result of land grants issued around 1770-80. At that time, Pike and Floyd county were both called Floyd county (I think). I know for a fact there are Solomon and related Damron grave sites on Hurricane Creek on the Pike County line. On the grant are signatures of different Damrons like Lazarus, George ?? I have a photo copy somewhere of some of those grants I secured some years back. Dameron/Damrons also have grants from Shelby -Virgie and Marrowbone areas. I did do lots of research about 10 years ago and took a break. I am currently researching to find a (internet)direct pathway From Dorothy Roach and Lawrence Dameron to the Sir Phillipe DAmeron (1400-1500). If we can identify that relationship, maybe some (or all) of us Damrons can claim ownership to the Dameron/Damron Family Coat of Arms. My parents have had one hanging in my home for 40 or 50 years. My dad is from the Elkhorn and mom from the Marrowbone areas of pike. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
