Her mother was Ruby Ethel Crank, born around 1902 in Kentucky. Her father was Estel Grant Jones. I am having difficulty finding information on Ruby's parents. Ruby's father was Andy/Andrew Crank, born around 1876 to William Crank in Kentucky. Ruby's mother is listed as Manerva/Minerva/Nerva Newell. She was born Oct. 3, 1883 in Grahn, Kentucky but I've found other records that say she was born in 1880. Her death record says she died on Jan. 19, 1933 in Floyd, KY. Her mother's name is listed as Martha(?) and her father's name as M. Newell. My GGrandmother always spoke of how some members of her family were of Cherokee descent. I'm not sure which family members, but I'm wondering if that's why I cannot find information on Nerva? Please let me know if you have any information on any of my family members. Thanks!
