Ypsilanti, MI Age 84, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at home with her family by her side. She was born August 25, 1924 in Floyd Co., KY, the daughter of Kelly and Martha (Hall) Jones. She received her teaching certificate from Morehead Teachers College in Pikeville, KY. She taught school in Betsy Lane, KY before moving to Ypsilanti to work at the Willow Run Bomber Plant. She was employed over forty years with the Kroger Company, retiring in 1984. Survivors include: her daughter, Beverly (Chuck) Varney; her son, Hubert (Sandra) Martin Jr., four grandchildren, Barbara (Brett) Curts, Tamara Brothers, Christopher (Angel) Martin and Eric Martin; eight great grandchildren; and three brothers, Ernest, Edward and Tony Jones. She was preceded in death by one great grandson. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial be follow in Hillside Cemetery in Belleville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. toni! ght and 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
