    2. Seeking all descendants of Rev. Samuel Hanna (1774-1837) and his wife Mary Elizabeth Cassidy of Floyd County, Kentucky. Rev. Samuel Hanna is the son of Samuel Hanna & Mary Brady of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. These families are the descendants of Hugh Brady, born 1709. Rev. Samuel Hanna and his family settled in Floyd County, Kentucky and later moved to Washington County, Arkansas. To All Brady Cousins! Hear ye, Hear ye! Announcing the next reunion for all descendants of Hugh Brady (born 1709) and his wife Hannah McCormick. Date of reunion: June 12, 13, & 14 2015. Location: Thanks to the gracious permission of Bruce & Cheryl Lampe, we are once again invited to hold our reunion at The Brady Homestead in Cumberland County, PA. The Brady Homestead property contains the log cabins built in the 1700's which have been restored and which now sit on 72 acres of Hugh Brady's original land. Activities: The Reunion includes a Revolutionary encampment, activities for children and teens, displays and classes on Brady historical & genealogical information, Irish music, a memorial service at Hugh & Hannah's graves and many other activities associated with our Brady heritage & history. Thursday June 11th, 2015 - there will be an optional day-trip to visit the Fort Bedford area. Bedford County was formed from Cumberland County in 1771 and the Brady sons were active in and around Bedford as follows: 1. Capt. John Brady, Hugh Brady II, Ebenezer, James, & Samuel, all sons of Hugh Brady, Pioneer, owned land in the Bedford area. 2. In 1764, Capt. John Brady accompanied Colonel Bouquet on his second expedition. As the victorious army returned to Carlisle, the officers of the First and Second Pennsylvania Battalions (including Capt. John Brady) met at Fort Bedford. They had been informed that the Provincial Government of Pennsylvania could not pay them, and instead decided to ask for land. The officers signed a petition to Governor Penn urging the proprietors to purchase land above the forks of the Susquehanna as payment land for these officers. This Officer's Petition contains the signature of John Bradyand he is listed as "Major" John Brady. 3. 19 August 1793 - A contract was entered into between the between the Governor in behalf of the Commonwealth, and James Brady & Ebenezer Brady of the County of Westmoreland, for clearing that part of the Road from the East Branch of Little Conemaugh to the west side of the Chestnut Ridge (a distance of 23 miles), part of the road from Frankstown to Bedford.
