Corbin Lane & Francis Proctor are my 5th great grandparents. I found a will for Corbin but only mentions leaving his estate to his sons and does not mention any of his 6 daughters. His daughter Ruth Lane married Thomas Spears and I have not been able to locate any information as to where or when they were born, married or when they died or where they are buried. Thomas Spears parents were Spencer and Tabitha Mirea Chaffin. I know that Thomas & Ruth lived in Floyd Couynty which now is part of Johnson county. I have 1850/1860 census record showing Ruth (Lane) Spears living in Johnson county living with their sons Samuel and Abraham. And in 1860 she lived with Samuel and his wife abnd Abraham was also living there. I have found a copy of a death record for their son Wiley Marion Spears which shows Thomas and Ruth as his parents and I found a death and marriage record for Frances Jane Spears-We! lch also showing Thomas and Ruth as her parents. Other than that I have not been able to locate infomation on Thomas or Ruth. On the 1850 & 1860 census Thomas was not shown at all...I have been told (but not proven) that he died in 1852??? which does not explain where he was in 1850 as he is not shown on the census records which shows Ruth and 2 of her sons....If there is anyone out there that can help me I would very much appreciate it. I have been searching for anything with Ancestry and on the query boards and still have not found anything to answer my questions.
