Born March 6, 1917,at Ivel he was a son of the late Gomer Stewart and the late Vickie Mullins. He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Hueysville Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Jody Mullins of Hueysville, and Tony Mullins of Eastern; five daughters, Ann Thomas, Linda Chaffins, and Margie Chaffins, all of Garrett, Marie Gilbert of London, and Sandra Tucker of Oklahoma; three step-sons Wayne Collins and Stanley Collins, bothof Eastern and Lewis Collins of Langley; three step-daughters, Judy Wright of Martin; Patricia Slone of Pyramid, and Kim Jones of Ohio; four sisters, Edna Greer of Salisbury, Ethel Hall of Martin, Lilas Mullins of Pikeville, and Rosemary Grose of Michigan; four half-brothers, Ed Kidd of Martin, Dewey Kidd of Michigan, and Nick Kidd and Andy Kidd, both of Florida; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Mullins, Jr, and Earnest Mullins; and a daughter, Betty Jo Dempsey. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 7 at 2 p.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Homein Martin with Buddy Jones and Jerry Manns officiating. Burial was in the Castle Cemetery at Hueysville,under the direction of Nelson Frazier F! uneral Home. On his WWI Draft Card in 1917 he was employed by Liberty Coal Co. His nearest relative was M. M. Stewart of McDowell, Floyd Co KY.
