JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON RUBY ROACH FROM THE DAYTON (OH) DAILY NEWS 1/21/09 Birdie Colvin Hunt, age 69 of Dayton, OH went to her heavenly home on January 19, 2009. Birdie was born and raised in Wheelwright, KY. At the age of 15, she graduated from Palmer Dunbar High School (Wheelwright, KY). In 1959, she graduated from Kentucky State University. She brought her warm southern hospitality to Dayton in the late 50's. Birdie was a faithful member of the American Business Women's Association and the Penny Pinchers Club. After 36 years of dedicated service, she retired from the Ohio Department of Youth Services. Birdie is preceded in death by her loving husband, H. Everett C. Hunt Jr.; son, H. Everett C. Hunt III; parents, Bradie Sr. and Ola Mae Colvin; sister, Ruth Colvin-Johnson; brother, Vincent O. Colvin, and an uncle, Wilbert Jordan. She leaves to cherish her memory; a loving daughter, Karen R. Hunt of Dayton, OH; three sisters, Edna (Walter) Taylor of Richmond, KY; Yvonne (Willie) Marvin of Dayton, OH, and Nicole Colvin Neal of Cincinnati, OH; a bro! ther Brady Colvin Jr. of Vacaville, CA; a brother-in-law, Morton James (Vivian) Hunt of Dayton; OH; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. January 24, 2009 at FIRST WESLEYAN CHURCH, 401 Gramont Ave., with Pastor Freddie T. Piphus, Officiating and Pastor E. Jack Horne, Eulogy. Interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery. Viewing 4-8 P.M. January 23, 2009; the family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. at Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave., Dayton.
