Claiborn J. Jones, born Dec., 1832, son of James R. Jones & Satira Stanley. Can't locate him after 1850 Floyd census. Think he went to Pike Co. He's a brother to my gr. gr. grandfather, Lemeul Jones, b/3-9-1838. Would appreciate any info on what happened to Claiborn. Ron Jones

Claiborn Jones, age 18 in 1850 Floyd Co. living with parents John and Phoebe Jones, many siblings (Nathaniel, James, Ambrose, Lemuel, William, Tandy, Alina? , Francis (male), Martha, amd ?grandparents Nathaniel Jones Sr., age 79, and Nancy Jones, age 75. This is the last record I find of this Claiborn also. I do have a Claiborn Jones married to Millie Martin, daughter of David and Millie Spradlin Martin. He was born about 1815 in Virginia. I am researching the Martin side, not the Jones side, so I haven't focused on the Joneses, but I assume the Claiborn who married Millie is the uncle of the Claiborn you seek. 1850 census of Floyd Co. list Calborn, age 45; Milly, age 43; and children: FLORONA, 21; FLONNDA, 20; FRANCIS J., 17; ELIZABETH, 14; DAVID 12; JOEL, 10, WILLIAM, 8; CLARIZA, 4. Claiborn was not in the household in 1860 in Floyd Co. His wife Millie is listed as 48, daughter Florinda, 25; son Joel, 17, William, 15 and daughter Clarissa, 12.
