Hi Ron,   I am a descendant of this line of Jones through brothers James and Ambrose. I have not done much with Claiborne, but you might want to check in Knox County, Ky. I have seen information indicating that he died there in 1914.   One other question. Are you a straight line descendant of John R. Jones...a father's, father's, father's link? If so, you might want to consider a Y DNA test to see if you match other Jones lines back through time. I've done it with a different line and it's very cool. Not cheap, but it could really aid all of our Jones research down the road. My Jones link is through grandmothers so it wouldn't work me.
