JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON IRENE CALHOUN FROM THE KEVINTIDDFUNERALHOME.COM 2/20/09 Irene Whitaker Calhoun, Age 74, of Albion, MI passed away January 31, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 25, 1934 in Prestonsburg, KY to Ervin and Isabelle (Watkins) Whitaker. On April 30, 1951, she married Rev. Charles E. Calhoun in Mason, MI; he preceded her in death December 25, 1996. Irene worked in housekeeping at Albion College and later worked at Albion Manor as a housekeeper. She attended Crossroads Church and Ministries in Marshall. She enjoyed garage sales, walking, and taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by (1) daughter, Virgie Holtz of Albion, MI, (1) son, Darrel ( Toni) Calhoun of Ashville, AL, (9) grandchildren, (2) great grandchildren, and (1) sister, Bev Carrender of Somerset, KY. Besides her Husband, Irene was preceded in death by (7) brothers. Visitation for family and friends will be February 2, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Erie Street Chapel of J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 208 West Erie Street, Albion, MI. Funeral Service! will be 1:00 P.M. February 2, 2009 at the Erie Street Location with Minister Jeff Thomas officiating.
