His parents were married 30 Jan 1861 in Floyd County, Kentucky. His father was killed during the Battle of Utoy Creek (Georgia) on 11 Aug 1864. Don't know if his mother remarried or not, but he can be found living with his grandparents in the 1870 census for Floyd County, Andrew & Martha Baldridge.
