Author: chickenhawk1192004 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.floyd/4.26.163.178.190.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: ....your right about how do we know nathan jones and what ever his wife's name was were the parents of the first nathaniel, another jones decendant and I have been looking high and low all over the place for real proof of his parents, we've come up with some things that may be connected, he (ron jones decendant of claibourn, brother to your james) found 1 1791 amherst co va personal property tax list, naming a nathaniel tilman jones as responsible for the taxes on the estate of a john walsh that's why I added in prentase "tilman" in case someone recognizes it and can connect it, of course we know our nathaniel married nancy ray 17 nov. 1794 in amherst co va, I believe she was a sister of my 3rd greatgrandfather john watson ray sr, both their fathers name was william ray, in nancy and nathaniel's marriage bond william ray was surity (father) john sr married rutha robertson 16 dec. 1791, both familys along with what seems to be a group of inter related and allied familys mighi! ated to n. c. then to russell co va which later became scott co in 1815 and then between 1825 to 1830 a number of those family's show up with land grants on shelby and robinson cr in pike co, nathaniel t. jones had a grant next door to linsey ray (my gguncal), the second nathaniel t. jones and mary ann McCowan ore the parents of my first greatgrandmother cathrine jones who married william varn ray april of 1872, she was 17yrs old and he was 28yrs old, ron and I both would be happy to share notes and so forth contact me of the board my email is [email protected] we email each other almost every day, he has been wanting to make contact with other decendants and would be happy to hear from you, he still lives in floyd co, I'll give you his email.....jim Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
