Author: chickenhawk1192004 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.floyd/4.26.164.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Mitch: It was a settlement grant, not a military grant, in going through early ky land grants I found where several members of my family and related or allied family had all moved from scott co va and took up grants on shelby and the little fork of robinson cr in pike co, on several militia rosters in n. c. there are several jones who served nathaniel, ambrose, william, david and james, those were found recently and there hasn't been a whole lot more study on them, so even though they look promising they may not all be related I know of 3 other nathaniel jone already, but in the civil war land grants its quite possible you will find 2 one for ambrose jones and lemuel jones, the GAR (fore runner of the veterans adm.) may even have records of pensions for them too......jim Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
