She was born 1850 in Blaine, Caines Creek, Lawrence Co., KY. Notes for Henderson H. Hicks: Henderson H. Hicks was born 1849 at North Carolina to ? 1850 - Henderson age 1 is probably in his father's household. 1860 - Henderson age 11 is probably in his father's household. 1868 - Henderson age 19 when his daughter Ellen M. Hicks was born about 1868 according to her age listed on the 1880 census. 1870 - Henderson age 21 is not listed on the 1870 Lawrence Co., KY census. There were several families in Lawrence County that were not listed on the 1870 census, reason unknown. But, he was listed on the 1880 census at Lawrence County. 1880 - Henderson age 31 is listed in his household on the 1880 Lawrence Co., KY census HH #70 pct 4 Blaine: Henderson (mistranscribed as Hairson) H. Dec. 1890 - Henderson age 41. The 1890 Federal census burned. 1900 - Henderson age 51 is not listed on the 1900 Lawrence Co., KY census. Notes for Phoebe Jane "Pet" Boggs: Phoebe Jane "Pet" Boggs was born about 1850 at Blaine, Caines Creek, Lawrence Co., KY to James Henry Boggs & Matilda Lyons. 1860 - Phoebe age abt. 10 is listed in the household of her father on the 1860 Lawrence Co., KY census HH #380: James Boggs 30 Farmer b.KY; Matilda 25 Wife b.KY; David Ross 15 b.KY; all children b.KY: PHEBA Boggs 11; Emily 7; Lewis T. 5; Ellen 3; Hanah 1/2. On the 1860 census Phoebe was listed at age 11. It appears Phoebe was probably born in 1850 after the census was taken because she is not listed in her father's household on the 1850 Lawrence Co., KY census HH #260: James Boggs 20 farmer $200; Matilda 17. 1868 - Phoebe age 18 when her daughter Ellen M. Hicks was born about 1868 according to her age listed on the 1880 census. 1870 - Phoebe age 20. 1880 - Phoebe age 30 is listed in her household with her husband on the 1880 Lawrence Co., KY census HH #70 pct 4 Blaine: Henderson (mistranscribed as Hairson) H. The 1890 Federal census burned. 1900 - Phoebe age 50 is not listed on the 1900 Lawrence Co., KY census. Marriage Notes for Henderson Hicks and Phoebe Boggs: Henderson H. Hicks and Phoebe Jane Boggs were probably married about 1867, but they do not appear to be listed on Lawrence Co., KY marriage records. They may have married in a nearby county.
