My interest,is whether my 4xgreatgrandparents John Gearheart,Sr and Katherina's children would have gone to school in Floyd Co.in the early 1800s? My ancestors migrated from Wythe Co.VA to Floyd Co.Ky in about 1804-1806. John Gearheart,Sr was of german descent and may not have spoken the english language or his wife Katherina (maiden name unknown) If anyone has access to information on the early establishment of schools and could share that with me in email, I would greatly appreciate it.
