Joseph "Joel" Patton was the son of Nancy Patton, grandson of Frazier Patton. I am assuming that when the census takers arrived at the home of Frazier Patton on July 8, 1970, Joe/Joel was there to be counted. When the census takers arrived at Squire Lawson's home on August 13th, 1970, Joe/Joel was there to be counted. So... he isn't truly in two places at once. Just counted twice. Same thing happened with Nancy in the 1900 census. She is counted in both Joseph and Greenville's homes. See all my notes, below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. .
