This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hall, Franklin, Combs, Caudill Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pAB.2ACI/5079 Message Board Post: I am looking for photos or newspaper accounts of the life and death of Big Ed Hall, the "Mountain Manhunter", and his wife, Elizabeth Catherine "Cat" Franklin. Cat was the only sibling of my g-grandfather, Harvey G. Franklin of Letcher County. Big Ed was born on Otter Creek outside of modern Wheelwright in 1858, son of Wash and Cindy Hall. He died as a result of a shooting in Pound, VA in 1895. He was instrumental in the capture of the Fleming brothers and Marshall "Red Fox" Taylor. Cat Franklin Hall survived him and moved back from Pound River to the Beaver/Wheelwright area, where she apparently died in either 1919 or 1931 (I have seen both dates). In addition to photos and news articles covering their lives, I also would like to confirm where they might be buried. Can readily accept scanned images, but will reimburse for copies and mailing as well. My address is: Dan Mohn, 4101 Ciremos Terrace, Louisville, KY 40241.
