Author: Marcum77 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.floyd/532.1348.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thanks for responding. The Issac McGuire you listed was the son of my g-g-aunt, Mynerva Nelson, who first married a Click before marrying David McGuire. The Nelson's are through my Dad's side, and the McGuire's through my Mother's. The Issac McGuire I am searching for was the son of Priscilla McGuire and George Hezekiah Right (Wright). Priscilla and George married in Floyd CO, KY in 1811 as I found their marriage record at the courthouse. I have the record somewhere - just writing this from memory which gets me into trouble at times. Anyway, something happened to George Hezekiah Right or Hezekiah George Right as Priscilla remarried to a Henry Crumb using the last name of Right. Priscilla and George's son, Issac, went by the name of Issac Right when he married Delilah Moore and in the next census. For some reason, he started using his mother's maiden name of McGuire all the time and even used the McGuire name for his chidren. I think Priscilla McGuire was the daughter of George McGuire and was maybe the grand-daughter of Cornelius McGuire who came to Floyd CO, KY from Tazewell, VA. It is a great mystery as to why Issac changed his name from Right to McGuire. I'd love to know why. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
