Wonderful pictures! Reminds me of Madison Co., AR where I was raised. My ancestors Joel and Nancy (Gilbert) Gibson were from Floyd Co., KY. Joel was the son of Ezekial and Rachel (Terry)Gibson of Floyd County. It's nice to get a look at the place where ones ancestors lived, especially when it is still pretty much unspoiled. She is burried on Soft Shell in the Ramey cemetary with other members of her family. She had 3 sons in Virginia before coming to Ky. I don't believe she was married. ist son John born 1842, 2nd son William born 1845 3rd son born 1850*52 , after they grew up and married and had a family they changed their sirname from Gibson. John changed his to John Ramey. William changed his to Will Collins. Samuel kept his name of Gibson and he died after he was married and had a few children. Kate lived with Elbe Collins and had 5 more children by him, he helped raise Will, I have a feeling that Will was Elbe's son because he looks like the other Collins family. Please help me find more information on Kate Gibson, Collins. I sure do wish I could see a picture of her. I have been searching for info on a Jacob Crum born about 1765. Was said to have been born in Ireland, but not really able to confirm that info. He was married to a Elizabeth ?? last name not known. The children I have are Martha Melinda, Peter, Elias and Hiram. They lived in Jefferson County, Kentucky and some of the siblings showed up in Alcorn County, MIssissippi. I have been told there may have been more children. I have Peter born 1815, Martha born 1805, Elias born 1810 and Hiram born 1814. The years match what you have so I thought I would see what info you have.
