My great grandfather is a direct decendent of Jesse P. Hanna who settled in Hanna Valley in 1854. I have visited the remains of the old homestead both during my childhood and more recently about 7 years ago. Nothing left there now but a grave yard where GG is buried. You will also find some of his sons and their wives ended up in Cherokee Texas in the cemetary there that was once Hanna Cemetary. I have gobs of poorly organized, but readily available information on the Hannas.

McCoy. He told me about Palmer McCoy and how he shot Albert Little for trying to kill John P. I believe Albert may have been kin to Delphia but I'm not sure. Pvt.Nathaniel Cook,who received a military headstone,he was an unknown soldier and here is the story provided by Mack Horne,who researched and assisted Grady Wright the greatgrandson of Nathaniel Cook in the discovery of whom the unknown soldier was: MACK HORNE  PROVIDES OUR GEARHEART FAMILY STORY.. FOLLOWING THE BATTLE OF MIDDLE CREEK JANUARY 10,1862 GENERAL MARSHALL'S CONFEDERATES CAMPED AT THE JOSEPH GEARHEART FARM FOR SEVERAL DAYS  THE WINTER OF 1862 WAS COLD ACCORDING TO OUR GEARHEART FAMILY STORY, THE SOLDIERS TORE DOWN  OUR GEARHEART'S FENCES AND USED THEM FOR FIREWOOD.
