They have most of the past papers on microfilm, I believe they date back to 1930. Not sure of this, but I have some copies, I should say sections of the paper dating back to 1937. My roots are from that area, and I made a trip there to do some research. I hope to reture sometime this summer. I found from the papers that it was common to settle a dissagreement with a gun. Guess they had not invented talk. Charlene

But here is the rest of the article. The headlines are BRADLEY IS ARRESTED BY KNOTT OFFICERS IN TRIPLETT CASE. Accused of the fatal wounding Lacey Triplett at Lackey, February 8, Joe Bradley was arrested Friday and jailed at Hindman. The warrant Commonwealth's attorney John Allen said he had been told, was sworn to by Frank Hughes.. at Garrett. who last week signed a statement to the effect that he saw a man whom he "believed to be Bradley fir on Triplett. The Knott circuit court may have jurrisdition in the trial since Triplett died at the Stumbo Memorial hospital in Knott county, though the shooting took place in Floyd county.

Ed is my wife's g Uncle on her paternal side.His brother Lee sr is buried behind my house.As for Ed He was brought back to Wheelwright and buried up on Abner Fork.Dont know exactly what cemetery yet.Her g Uncle Goose Neck John Branham was with Big Ed at the Bogs and was killed there.He wsa returned to Norton,Va for burrial.We have acopy of the original letter telling her Grandfather Floyd aka "GW" Branham of his death in 1894.As for Wash his name John William Hall.This has been the cause of much confussion as there was George Washington Hall that lived at Weeksbury,Ky.He to was called "Wash ".He is my g Grandfather and was the s/o William James Hall jr the s/o James"Stiff Jim"Hall the s/o William James"Gun Smith Billy"Hall. I have copies of WilliamJ Hall jr's Bible records and a copy of the minutes of the new Salem association from 1998 with the obit of Stiff Jim.
