    3. My interest,is whether my 4xgreatgrandparents John Gearheart,Sr and Katherina's children would have gone to school in Floyd Co.in the early 1800s? My ancestors migrated from Wythe Co.VA to Floyd Co.Ky in about 1804-1806. John Gearheart,Sr was of german descent and may not have spoken the english language or his wife Katherina (maiden name unknown) If anyone has access to information on the early establishment of schools and could share that with me in email, I would greatly appreciate it. If you are doing a family history of the Gobles, I have a great deal of data, and will gladly share it with you. My cousin, Jimmy Goble, wrote a series of true short stories about growing up in the household of James S (Heck) Goble, and put them in a book. The book is called Soup Beans and Cornbread. James S. Goble descends from Christian Goble. This line of Gobles are known as the German Gobles. You can fine a great deal of older information on this line if you go to the Goble Family Association webpage.
