I will list Thomas followed by his children ( my line ) Thomas Mesias " Cyrus" Elijah Greenberry Ulysses Grant Jackson "Jack" Bonnie Randel and me, Robin Christena Hall was born 1842 in KY, she was the daughter of Jesse Hall (not the Jesse in my line) and Nancy Elliott. Alexander Baldwin was born 1835 in KY, and was the son of Solomon Baldwin and Sarah Elliott. Christena's father, Jesse, is the son of Mesias " Cyrus" Hall and Unisiah Branham Smith. I have absolute tons of information on the Hall family. I think it goes back as far as 1702, in the Virginia area. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks, Robin

She married Alexander Baldwin circa 1850, they had several children together before they divorced in 1873. They both went on to remarry-Christina remarried James Rayburn and moved to Boyd Co Ky and Alexander remarried Lucy Layne Johnson, by whom he had 4 sons. Alex died in Oct 1 1899 and Christena died in Boyd Co- I believe, date ? I think she is buried in Ashland Cemetery. I know they lived at one time at Mud Creek in Floyd Co Ky. Alex was a farmer until after his service in the Civil War. Would Christena also be kin to you?

William H Clay and Delara Gahart married on July 10, 1899 at the home of Robert Henry. Consent was given by Delara's stepfather who at that time was married to Amanda Watkins. This is where we think she is related. My Mom is the only surviving Watkins and she always said Clays were linked to the family. It gives Delara's age 18. Her death certificate gives her birth date as 5/22/1880. Amanda Watkins married Robert Henry on May 20, 1892 in Greenup County. She was listed as a widow. Hopefully we can find out who the father is I think they were married in 1880 either Carter or Floyd county. Thanks for your help. Judy

May 6, 1904. May 6, 1904. Mayo Buys a Plantation. The Huntington Herald says: John C.C. Mayo, of Paintsville, has just closed a deal with J.H. Caldwell, of Titusville, Pa., whereby he becomes the owner of the famous Varina plantation, situated on the James River, 12 miles below Richmond, Va. The plantation contains 1,300 acres and is classed among the best in the State of Virginia, in productiveness, beautiful scenery, as well as its historic references from the first settlement of Virginia to the present day. The Indian chief Powhatan, gave the plateau, Varina, to his favorite daughter, Pocahontas, to whom John Rolfe was married, and thus Varina is a charmed domain to the antiquary as well as the romance lover. Besides a large colonial brick mansion there are a number of farm houses. It is said that Mr. Mayo paid $100,000 for the property. _________________ From Knott County Historical Society's - A Century Ago This Week. Can anyone enlightens us upon this property, both past and present? Thanks. Sincerely yours, David R. Smith, Pres. Knott County Historical Society, Inc.
April 16, 1903. Prestonsburg, Ky. April 16. Cliff Branham and Nelson Moore, accused of assassinating Anderson Moore, were arrested at White House by M.T. Allen, L.P. May and James Sizemore, and brought here and lodged in jail. A few days after the killing of Moore, it is alleged, they went to the home of his widow, set fire to her barn, killed her stock and gave her twenty-four hours to get out of the country. Monroe Moore, accused of being an accomplice, was arrested by Sheriff J.M. Weddington and placed under guard. He is said to have made a written confession. The prisoners have since been taken to Lexinton for safe-keeping. _____________________ From Knott County Historical Society's - A Century Ago This Week (1903 Edition) Can anyone provide any further information regarding this incident?
