Jeptha and Ira Debord, sons of Isaac Debord, married Middleton sisters in 1827 Wilkes NC; Jeptha moved to Lawrence Ky abt 1831 then on to Carter abt 1846, Ira went to Pike Ky in the early 1830;s then to Boyd Ky in the erarly 1850's. Ira b abt 1808 first married Ann Middleton in 1827; at some point around 1840, Ira married 2nd to Martha Riggsby. I think Ira had at least 15 children; maybe 5 or so with Ann and the rest with Martha. Hurshel

I have 11 children listed for Ira and Ann, but no Solomon (or Saul). Is he a nephew? I have only one brother listed for Ira, but no other information on him.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pAB.2ACI/1349.1364.1828.1827.2.1 Message Board Post: I have taken another look at how I have assigned my info, and I'm fairly certain that Lennie or Linnie Florence was daughter of Solomon Debord (4 June 1843 Lawrence Co KY - 24 June 1898 Carter KY ) and Mary Frances Mauk ( 4 Sept 1848 Carter KY - 11 Mar 1919 Elliott Co KY). Both are buried in the Mauk Cemetery. Saul or Sol may have been a nickname for Solomon. Clive is Grover Cleveland DeBord b 28 Aug 1891. I don't show an Ira in this family, but there was a daughter Ida B. born Sept 15 1871. The 1900 Elliott census for the widow Francis Deboard born Oct 1848 says she was born Oct 1848 and had 10 children with 8 children still living. That's something that is almost always correct in the census data; mothers may forget birthdates, but they very rarely forget how many children they have. 7 of the 10 children are listed in the 1900 census including Limry F born Oct 1884 (ie your Lennie) and Grover C. (your Clive) born Aug 1891. The 1880 Elliot census for Solomon and Mary J. Debord shows 5 children: John B. age 12, Sarah E. age 9, Ida B. age 7, Luciney J., and Amanda A. (prob Mauda A. in 1900) . Sarah Ellen Debord Parsons was one of her 10 children who died before 1900; John B. born abt 1868 was probably the other, since I haven't found anything on him after the 1880 census. I haven't found this family in the 1870 census, but I'm fairly certain they should have been in the Elliott County census. The Civil war pension application for Mary Francis Deboard filed 1912 from Elliott is very difficult to read, but I could make out the names of 3 children listed in that application: Willis, Minnie and Cleveland. Hurshel PS: Your father shows as Burley Barker son of Linnie Debord in the Carter County birth index; and he shows as Burl Baker (note Baker instead of Barker) in the Ky Death Index.

She married William Mason Barker. Grandma's brother was named Clive and her sister's name was Minnie Debord Grizzle Kegley. She married Dock Kegley the second time. I had Minnie's and grandma's obit which I had for many years but I seem to have misplaced or lost them. Aunt Minnie and grandma's obits were in the Olive Hill Times newspaper and Aunt Minnie was buried in the Tick Ridge Cemetery. Grandma was buried in the Barker cemetery in the Barker Flatts. I can't find Saul's obit either that's what I'm looking for. I have wanted to go to Olive Hill Ky. and look for info on Saul and Clive. My great, great grandfather was Solomon Debord and Mary Francis Mauk. I have grandma's and Minnie's death date and all it takes is looking in back newspapers. Maybe the historical Society and the library in Olive Hill could help with this. However, it may be some time before I will be able to go there. Oh Yes, my parents were Burl and Dora Ba! rker. My ancestors are Holbrooks, Debords, Mauks. Let me know if you need anymore info. Thanks
