They may have been given a copy. I do not know any of Mr. Akers' family as I spoke directly to him on the phone. He told me when I purchased my copy that he only had a few left. So I cannot say whether any of them might still be for sale. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: VReifenberger55 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.floyd/5040.101/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Robin Mr. Akers passed away a couple of years ago. At the time I bought his books he only had a few sets left, and he was asking hundreds of dollars for them. Admittedly, they are both thick volumes with tons of info. I am not willing to sell my set but have a suggestion for you. Have you looked on Ebay for any copies? There may still be some out there. From what I understand from others with whom I have corresponded, there were a lot of errors in his book. My line, for instance, is lacking an entire section. My understanding is htat he solicited family histories and then compiled them in his book, he did not do much of his own research.
