She was born January 26, 1918 in Weeksberry, KY the daughter of William and Virginia Mills. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1984; a brother, Alonzo Mills and three sisters, Mae Johnson, Milda Blevins, and Elladean Burchnell. Caleb Bailey was probably owed money by Solomon Stratton when he died, and was trying to collect that money from his estate. There were other records similar to the one regarding Caleb, regarding an account of the estate. Solomon Stratton married Sarah Walker in Floyd Co. in 1812. He was very involved in the formation of the city of Prestonsburg. He resigned as trustee of the town of Prestonsburg in 1815. Caleb Bailey is recorded in Wood County Land Grants as recieving 50 Acres of land on Slate Creek in 1816. Other Baileys listed in the same county are Charles and Charles P. I based that on the fact that number of children in the 1820 for this aunt and uncle increased from the 1810 census by the number of children that Caleb and his wife, Nancy, had on the 1810 census. Caleb's children later married in Ohio and Virginia. Based on all the information I have been able to find, I believe that Caleb was only visiting Floyd County when he died. I would normally suggest that you search tax records to see if he is listed, but if he wasn't actually living in Floyd County and just visiting, there would be no tax records for him. If you believe he was living in Floyd County before he died, I would then suggest that you search tax records and also the court records for a last will and testament, probate or estate record. You said he was not listed in the 1820 census, could he have been living with a relative in Floyd County? There are 3 male Bailey's listed in the 1820 Floyd County census, Benjamin Bailey, John Bailey and Lemuel Bailey. Just some thoughts and suggestions. According to another source I have seen, but not verified Caleb is said to have died in Floyd Court House. I am guessing the date to be somewhere between 1816 and 1820 as I have been able to find Caleb in tax records in Wood County, [West] Virginia in 1816, but do not see any sign of him in the 1820 census. Caleb is listed as living in Marietta, Ohio as of 1790. All other records that I have for him show he and his family in either Marietta, Ohio or across the Ohio River in Wood County, Virginia. I have no idea what he would have been doing in Floyd County, Kentucky unless it was related to his business. According to other records that I have, Caleb was a merchant. Caleb was married to Anna JAMES from Marietta, Ohio. He had 6 children that I am aware of. All of these children were born in Ohio and Virginia. Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Annals of Floyd Co.: County Court Book 3: September term: Monday, 21st day of September, 1818: An account of Caleb Bailey against the estate of Solomon Stratton amounting to $20.74 and 3/4 cents was proved and ordered certified. Several public family trees on Ancestry.com lists Caleb Bailey, husband of Anna James as dying 1825, born 1768 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts, son of Adams Bailey and Sarah Howard.
