    3. Claiborn Jones, age 18 in 1850 Floyd Co. living with parents John and Phoebe Jones, many siblings (Nathaniel, James, Ambrose, Lemuel, William, Tandy, Alina? , Francis (male), Martha, amd ?grandparents Nathaniel Jones Sr., age 79, and Nancy Jones, age 75. This is the last record I find of this Claiborn also. I do have a Claiborn Jones married to Millie Martin, daughter of David and Millie Spradlin Martin. He was born about 1815 in Virginia. I am researching the Martin side, not the Jones side, so I haven't focused on the Joneses, but I assume the Claiborn who married Millie is the uncle of the Claiborn you seek. 1850 census of Floyd Co. list Calborn, age 45; Milly, age 43; and children: FLORONA, 21; FLONNDA, 20; FRANCIS J., 17; ELIZABETH, 14; DAVID 12; JOEL, 10, WILLIAM, 8; CLARIZA, 4. Claiborn was not in the household in 1860 in Floyd Co. His wife Millie is listed as 48, daughter Florinda, 25; son Joel, 17, William, 15 and daughter Clarissa, 12. They were living among the Martin, Spradlin, and Thornsbury households, as they were in 1850. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ronald jones" <[email protected]> To: "FLOYD MESSAGES" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 12:19 PM Subject: [KYFLOYD] Claiborn J. 3. Hi Ron,   I am a descendant of this line of Jones through brothers James and Ambrose. I have not done much with Claiborne, but you might want to check in Knox County, Ky. I have seen information indicating that he died there in 1914.   One other question. Are you a straight line descendant of John R. Jones...a father's, father's, father's link? If so, you might want to consider a Y DNA test to see if you match other Jones lines back through time. I've done it with a different line and it's very cool. Not cheap, but it could really aid all of our Jones research down the road. My Jones link is through grandmothers so it wouldn't work me. Just a thought.   Mitch  --- On Thu, 2/19/09, ronald jones <[email protected]> wrote: From: ronald jones <[email protected]> Subject: [KYFLOYD] Claiborn J. You turn there at a red light on 80. It takes you across a hill into Caney Fork. Manton used to be a postoffice name. So did Alphoretta. Risner was the postoffice on Caney. Martin has been Martin as long as I can remember. Dinwood is there between the twin bridges, the road turns to the right if you are leaving Martin. Dinwood is a small place around the side of that little hill. There is a cemetary on top of a rounded hill at or near the end of that road.
