Hello all, The land grants site was great. I found some William Fords. Related or not, I couldn't tell, but one never knows. Due to your tip I used Explorer in the first place instead of trying with Netscape. Worked fine. I find that true with some other sites as well. My families in Fayette are William FORD md Lydia ??? Children: Charlotte, Nancy, Daniel, John, William, Betsy, Emily Harriet (most likely not in that order) William's brother Nathaniel FORD was executor of his will. Charlotte FORD md Level HILTON, 1820. Level died 1837) Children: William F. HILTON (md. Betsy MARSH) Amanda HILTON ( md. James[?] HOUGHTON) Mariah G. HILTON, b. 1825. d. 1906. (md. Wm. B. MARSH) (birth order probable) These families also intermarried with the Cromwell family. William (Sr.) was Sheriff of Fayette County about 1800. He died in 1820 and named these children and his wife in his will. If anyone connects with these names I would be glad to hear from you.
