    3. Hi, Listers, I wonder if anyone is researching the ALEXANDER family that managed and may- be owned the Alexander's Ashland Hotel in downtown Lexington in the 1860's- 1870's. The family head was John Wallace ALEXANDER who was the proprietor. His wife was Sarah MARGARET. Their children were: William Wallace, John H. who died of rabies in Lexington in 1869, and Mary J. W. Alexander who married 1. Franklin J. Tanner and 2. Thomas A. Flannelly. In early 1880 the son William murdered a Black servant for voting Republican (per family history) and the entire family pulled up stakes and left Lexington. John, Margaret, Mary J. W. and William's wife Jennie and their children fled to Cincinnati where they are found on the 1880 census. I am hopeful someone out there is also researching this line and I would like to compare research and family stories with them. Edie Farris Covina, CA
