    3. Jim: I decided to post this to the entire list because I thought it would help to keep the traffic up. I believe in the molecular theory: if you just keep the molecules stirred up, things begin to happen : ) Works for me! The earliest two papers in Lexington, and I assume Fayette as a whole, were the Kentucky Gazette and the Kentucky Register. There are many books that index these papers and the originals are on microfilm at the Lexington Public Library. They will copy and send to you any pages you request. If you want to search, I am not sure if you can rent the microfilm. If you go to their website you may find the answer to that question or at least who to ask. Good luck, Caroline James Ralston wrote: > Can anyone tell me of the earliest newspaper(s) in Fayette County. I am trying all efforts to locate information about my gg-grandfather, DAVID RALSTON. I know of his burial location, which is in Harrison County, what the inscription on the tombstone says, but in the new printing I have of the History of Harrison County, the dates are different, and the author, William Perrin, states he was born in Fayette County, circa 1790. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. > > Jim Ralston > > ==== KYFAYETT Mailing List ==== > You can contact the listowner (that's me, Christine!) at > [email protected] with any questions or problems. -- >From the desk of Caroline House http://house.simplenet.com/mom
