    3. Hi Robert! The best way for you to get a copy of a marriage license is for you to write to the Fayette County Clerk at Fayette County Clerk--marriage record request 162 E Main St Lexington, KY 40507 - 1363 606 253 3344 is the phone number, I believe you can charge your request, but that requires an additional fee. 8 - 4:30 Monday through Friday, Kentucky time. Include a check for $6 (at least that's what it was last year when I sent for a bunch of my own) and an addressed, stamped envelope for your return. It'll take a couple of weeks, but Fayette Co has been the most prompt county I've dealt with! (and, unlike my home county, they will return the check if nothing is found.) The records available from the Fayette County Clerk include marriage records from 1795, probate and land records from 1794. The Clerk of the Circuit Court has divorce and civil court records. Good luck, and let us know what you find! But that posting has to be fresh and juicy!
