The prior 2-23-05 below refers to Fayette Co, Tax Lists I am not sure who the reply came from, but If some kind person would take time to check the 1790 thru 1802 tax lists for John Heim or aka Himes, I would surely appreciate it. He is my husbands gggg grfather, He was born in York, PA but I know he was in Fayette Co, KY as his first son Samuel Heim or Himes was born in Fayette co, KY in 1789 and the family was there till about 1803 when they went to Ohio. Thanks in advance. I am not sure what info will be shown on the tax lists, but I am also looking for his wifes name....of which I have tried numerous places with nothing more than Mrs. John Himes. If found, it will give me some more proof that they in indeed were there.... ..but records do show their first child Samuel was b in Fayette Co, KY, perhaps more children. Thanks so much for your help. LDS Film # 7957 Fayette County KY Tax Books After 1790 it appears that different sections of the county were listed separately. Patrick, Stephen, Robert, & William Davis seem to be in one district in 1791. 1791 List # 2 includes Leo Davis, Septimus Davis, Nathaniel Davis, Edw. Davis, Richd Davis, Ben Davis, John Davis, William Davis. 1792 List # 3 includes Leond Davis, Edwd David, Nathan Davis, Jno Davis I checked these lists from 1787 through 1802. The 1791 list was the only one with a John Davis listed. I was looking for a John Davis, son of Richard & Margaret Davis. Their other sons were Edward, Aaron, Solomon, & Nathaniel Davis. We think that Richard & Margaret came from Maryland to Fayette County, KY. Richard died in Fayette about 1797-99; Margaret died in Madison County, KY in 1808. ==== KYFAYETT Mailing List ==== Welcome to the KYFAYETT mailing list!
