You may be interested in two recent additions to the Fayette County page. First, there is a new local cemetery group that is collecting information on deaths and burials at Eastern State Hospital (ESH) located in Lexington, Kentucky. Established in 1824 as the second "lunatic asylum" in the United States, ESH was in service to the entire state. Mary Hatton has taken on the enormous task of compiling information from Kentucky death certificates showing ESH as the place of death. She has completed the list for 1911 and it's now available through Fayette County KYGenWeb and will be placed on other sites as well. The list includes a decedent's dates of birth and death, death certificate number, age, race, and place of burial. Also, the volume in the Fayette County Clerk's Office labeled Colored Marriage Declarations is now transcribed and online. Entries were made in this book between 1866-1908 and typically show the husband's name, the wife's maiden name, and when and where the couple was married or began living together as man and wife.
