    3. I lived on Picadome Park in 1945 near Lafayette High school. I remember my mother walking us to the field in front of the high school that was undeveloped at that time to see the German prisoners of war that were being held there behind a fence. She was surprised to see that they were young blond innocent looking young boys like her brothers. They smiled a waved at us children. We thought they would be monsters, but they seemed nice and friendly. There must have been some sort of military presence in Lexington. >>> rrothenbuhler@austin.rr.com 05/09/07 11:49 AM >>> Hi List, In the 1945 timeframe, was there an Army Base in Lexington or near? If so, where is/was it located and how big was it? thanks, robert ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to KYFAYETT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
