Pardon my sticking my nose in your conversation, but for some years I have been researching my small hometown of Higbee, Randolph Co., MO. It takes its name from a Joseph Higbee family, probably of Jessamine Co, KY, and one of Joseph's daughters married a John Bourn. In fact I've found in the census that apparently his mother and a couple of his brothers settled in what became the Higbee vicinity (J. Higbee died ca l849.) A couple of sources mention a Bournsville/Bernsville, that I'm thinking was a stage stop operated by the son-in-law. Today, as you probably know, there are Higbee's and Bourn's living and/or buried in Clark and Scotland Co's in extreme northeast MO, to where those who once lived in Randolph Co apparently moved after Mr. Higbee's death. Just thought you'd like to know. P. S. I have several ancestors who came to MO from VA via KY. Those in and around Fayette Co would have been the Dudley family and their kin.
