    3. Phyllis, I have a copy of a page from a book called Records of Marriages in Garrard County, Kentucky for the period of years 1796 to 1851 Inclusive, compiled by someone whose last name is Orrell. It lists the following: Kays, James m Mary (don't know what that means) Bride and Parents listed as Betsy Noel f Musker, b (bondsman) Joseph Kays Date, Before March 10, 1825 Kays, John Clemson, Betsy b Geroge Kays June 21, 1810 Keays, Charles Clark, Betsy, b James Clark October 19, 1812 I have this information because I am researching Robert Kays/Case/Cays, who married Elizabeth Sherrow in Jessamine County Kentucky in 1849. They are the parents of my great-grandfather, Perry Lewis Cayse, and lived mostly in Garrard County, down on the Dix River, where Herrigton Lake is today. I do not know who Robert's parents were, only that he was born in either 1815 or 1825, and died in 1892, if the tombstone information I believe to be his is correct. He first shows up in the 1850 Census, in Garrard County. At the time, there was a lot of movement back and forth of county lines, as new counties were created from older ones. At one time Fayette County was a lot bigger than it is today. If you have any information concerning Robert, I'd appreciate having it. Hope this will help you some. 2. Hello: I've been "lurking" for a while and learning a bit about KY. and it's counties. I am researching KAYS in Fayette, Garrard, Lincoln, and Barren CO., KY. the years I am primarily interested in are: 1780's to 1830's when most of them seemed to migrate to MO. and settle in Benton CO. The earliest KAYS ancestor that I've been able to document in KY. was William Kays in Fayette Co. tax lists 1790. I would like to know if anyone has any marriage records for William Kays, George Kays, John Kays or Harvy Kays during those years. My direct line would be William Kays (Harvy's father). My William was born in 1784 in KY. according to the 1850 census in MO. so he would be too young for 1790 tax list. We (Kays researchers) are trying to determine who Williams parents were. Most think it was George and Lettie Hamilton Kays. They all owned land in the counties mentioned. George and Lettie seemed to have died in 1822 and 1828 respectively, and the family moved on, although later children apparently stayed in KY. I would appreciate any information that you have regarding this family. Thank you. Phyllis Pengilly (Ppengilly@aol.com)

    1. [KYFAYETT] Isaac Pritchard - Land Grants 1783-1798
    2. Hello Could anyone offer any more information on Isaac Pritchard that had an early land grant in Fayette County 1-2-1783 on Clear Creek referenced as the Watercourse. Another entree for a 1000 acre land granted to Isacc Pritchard possibly his son in Fayette County was granted 9-11-1798 on Mill Stream Watercourse. This seems like a large amount of land. I believe this may be my ancestor with the spelling also as Pritchart. Look forward to hearing any information on Isaac Pritchard and this land - deeds - wills - any clues will be welcomed.
