Hello all, Looking for any information on Joseph Robinson of the David's fork area of Fayette Co. The only children I have for him are John Robinson and Dudley Robinson who are named in his will written in 1819. Son John Robinson married Sarah Berry of Clark Co in 1802 and his brother, Dudley Robinson, married Elizabeth Cusenberry of Bourbon Co in 1809. Does anyone know of any other children for Joseph, or the origins of this family (probably in Virginia, but where)? Many thanks, Joan
You probably have an answer by now, but I'll add my two cents. If you "highlight" (click & hold your mouse, while dragging across the information you want) then you can "Copy" & "Paste" from your pull-down "Edit" menu. <<Help! I'm so lost. I went to the ukcc.uky.edu/~vitalrec/ website and found a great grandfathers name. BUT, I am so new at this, I don't know what to do next to extract the name and information with it. Starr, That is SO nice of you to check your records for Gormleys and McManaman. I found Patrick GORMLEY in the 1880 soundex census of Fayette Cty., KY. He married Sarah MCMANAMAN. They were my great-great-grandparents. One of their children, Bridget, was 6 years old in the 1880 census. She married James O'NEIL They were my great- grandparents. I have a copy of Bridget's (aka Beatrice) death certificate and it shows her parents names listed as Patrick Gormley & Sarah McManaman. It's an unusual last name. Bridget and James O'NEIL are buried in Lexington, but I don't know which cemetery. What counties did you find the GORMLEY'S in? Are they near Lexington? A family member said they may have been around Covington........how far is that from Lexington? You're wonderful......thanks again, Shannon ----- Original Message ----- From: <StarrZahn@aol.com> To: <KYFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 14, 2000 2:55 PM Subject: Re: [KYFAYETT] 1850 KY Census > Shannon, > Sorryit took me so long. Hello, Could someone kindly define exactly what is a "bondsman" as found at a marriage. Is a bondsman like a "best man" or the "father giving the bride away". I have seen many unrelated people as bondsman and not sure why they came forth. More insight appreciated. Anne Rupert

Hello to all, I have almost given up on my Pritchard (tt) family that settled early in Fayette Kentucky as I am the only one researching this line. I do believe many female siblings were born and the name disappeared except for one or two families today. A trip to the Lexington Library is planned within the next month to see what I can find on the Pritchard/ (tt) line. In the meantime does anyone have further information on Isaac Pritchard that acquired a 1000 acres land grant on Clear Creek about 1781 and then acquired another 1000 acre grant in 1796. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone can tell me who his children were or wife may be a clue. I have found nothing on him yet several Pritchartts have connections to the name Wilson, Estes, Adams, Todd, Robinson, Grimes, Mitchell and a few well know names of early families as the name appeared as Bondsman on marriages, deeds, and other documents. Any help appreciated. Annabelle Henderson Rupert Pritchard/tt of Fayette - ggg grandaughter of William Pritchart.
