Bourbon Co.: Samuel, Jr. Gibson, 1800, Samuel Sr., 1800 Montgomery Co.: Samuel Gibson Jr., 8/22/1800, Jr., Samuel Gibson Sr., 8/22/1800 Early deeds in Montgomery Co., Ky. 1804 James Gibson from Williams mentions a preemption 1812 Martin Gibson from William Gibson (Wm. holds property from grandfather of and for Martin) 1814 Campbell Gibson from Spencer Reid, and later deeds to Campbell from others 1814 William Gibson from Spencer Reid 1816 Samuel Gibson of Montgomery Co., from William Haney of Clark Co., etc. 1822 Samuel from Presly and Eliz Wilson 1822 Samuel from Philip Hammon, and etc. There was a James and Sarah Gibson in deeds 1835 and 1842. 1827 two deeds from Campbell Gibson and wife Jane, 1828 to Samuel Greenwade, and to Philip Peyton 1830 a William and Elizabeth Gibson to F. Myers 1840 a Samuel and Lucinda 1841 a Samuel and Jane to and from Herryman Tomlinson prob. to do with Wm. Miller estate, Jane sister to Wm. Miller in his 1834 will Bk. E, pp. 77-78. 1842 an Andrew Jackson Gibson to William Gibson, James Gibson, Samuel Gibson and another one to Samuel and William 1854 Samuel Gibson and wife Jane to James Gibson, William Gibson, and Samuel Greenwade 1859 William and Roann of Powell Co., Ky. to Thos. and Sarah Greenwade., and one to Carlisle Myers on Sycamore Creek These are the early ones and the last for Samuel Gibson. There are many many more deeds for James, Campbell, and William Gibson. The Samuel Gibson that I am interested in was born ca 1773 (Maryland per family) and is in the 1850 Montgomery County census, and wife Jane (MIller) Gibson, b. ca 1773, Pa., but his grandson, Campbell Gibson listed as head of house in 1880 census who has his father, James Gibson, son of Samuel Gibson listed in his house (prob. Campbell in father's house) says James Gibson's father born Pa., and Mother b. Md. (he has it turned around). Samuel Gibson and Jane (Miller) Gibson had per family the following children: l. James (1809-1891), 2. William called "Bill", 3. Jack, 4. Dalena, and 5.Elizabeth. Is the Samuel Gibson b. ca. 1773 the Samuel Gibson mentioned in John Alexander's Will Bk. B, p. 67, 1809?
On the 1914 death certificate of Martha M Fowler it shows the informant as a Chas. Kastle from Lexington KY. Not sure if this could be a nephew as she never married. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gail Henry St Louis MO
Many of my maternal grandmother's family died of TB in the early 1900s - don't know about an outbreak but it surely seems to have been a lot of it. Her family was around Stamping Ground and Cynthiana: Bessie ALSOP ISAACS actually died in Indiana in 1915 but grew up in KY. Several family members died in KY around the same time. Nancy

Is there any info out there on a TB outbreak in Lexington Kentucky in the early 1900's? Is there any kind of list of names of the people lost to this? Many of my relatives died of this and a list could give me some time lines, and perhaps more names. Thanks, Marion
Hi Listers, I'm looking for the sibling of my 2nd great grandfather, Capt. John W. His name is Roger Thomson, b. 1790, s/o Asa & Diana (Quarles) Thomson. In 1838, Asa & Diana lived near Bryan's Station in Lexington, however, it's possible that Roger was born in Scott County, KY. Roger is purported to have been an officer in the War of 1812 or the Mexican/American War. Any information will be most helpful. Thank you. ~Virginia Thomson Baldwin vathomson@aol.com
I'm researching John SNELL who died in Scott Co, KY but who may be the one taxed 1789 in Fayette Co. John Snell was born circa 1740 in VA. Had son Cumberland SNELL born in VA c. 1779 and enumerated 1810 and 1820 in Scott Co, KY. Is John SNELL taxed in Fayette Co the same person? Penny Hartzell

Searching for any information on John SIMPSON and Annie HULL. The following is what I know. John was born in 1841 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. In 1867 he attended Bible College of Kentucky University. In November 1873 he married Annie HULL. Would like to know who her parents were. John & Annie had 2 sons, believed to be Robert Simpson and Jesse Simpson. One was a Doctor in Lexington and the other followed in his father's footsteps and became a Minister. If anyone knows anything about these people, or have them in their family, please contact me. Willing to share more information on John - his parents & siblings. Thanks, Sandra ccullen@hc.itas.net
Does anyone know of Blythe, Asbury, and or Hill families from the early 1900's or later even from Lexington, Kentucky? Thanks
