Dear Sandy, I'm sorry. I couldn't find any references to any Simpsons or Hulls in the records I have. Roxanne Sandy wrote: Could you please check to see if there is any reference to a John SIMPSON & Annie HULL, who married in 1873. He was a Minister, but don't know what church. Dear Mike, I found a slew of Dunlaps. There was an Oneida Dunlap. She was listed as a member in 1827, and was listed as dying Mar. 23, 1838. In one listing she was grouped with other Dunlaps, but no Georges. There was one mention of a George Dunlap, though. It said "dism.(?) Jan.1854". There are no indications of his relationship to anyone else. If you want any of the other Dunlap information, I'll be glad to send it to you. Roxanne
It's been happening since the appraisal against the Stuart family in Scotland, several hundred years ago. <<Is it common for the spelling of a last name like Stewart or Stuart gets changed somehow? Dear Ella, I didn't find any McKinneys listed in the church records. There were a couple of Bosworths, though at a later date. There was Benjamin F. Bosworth, who died Aug. 23, 1852 of phthesic pulmanalis (?) at age 30, and Anne A. Bosworth who was "received" June 19, 1859, married George Thompson (no date). I found some old marriage records at the Kentucky History Center, and I know Ancestry.com has some marriage records for early Kentucky. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Roxanne

Roxanne, Could you please check and see if there is any mention of a George Nathaniel Dunlap? He is the son of William and Onie(?) Dunlap. Also if there is any info on Onie Dunlap. Thanks. Thank you for the information on Capt. Spurr. There were several Loudoun families in Fayette County ca. 1800. John Skirvin was born ca. 1758 in Maryland. At this time the exact County is unknown. He still owned land in Maryland when he moved to Fayette County. One branch of Skirvins in Maryland did migrate to Baltimore County and it is possible he knew John Cooper. Did Capt. Richard Spurr have a command in the Revolutionary War? Thanks so much! Sincerely, MichaelAnne
I too am proud to be an American and love the 4th. Why? My 5th great grandfather was a Rev War soldier and early settler of Jessamine Co In 1794 he held the first Independence DayCelebration west of the Alleghanies at his home. 40 other Rev War veterans were invited. I still go over and take care of his grave which is located in Jessamine Co. His name was Col Wm Price.
Hi, Roxanne~ Would appreciate a lookup for a McKINNEY in those Church records but might be too early ....1820's? Am trying to find out the parents of NANCY McKINNEY who married Collin BOSWORTH in Lexington in 1817. Does anyone know if marriage records are available for that time period, and where? Ella in Michigan (ellah@prodigy.net)
My third great grand father was Capt RICHARD SPURR of Loudoun Co Va militia. He went up the potamic, and down the Ohio to Maysville (Limestone) then overland to Fayette Co area. I believe he took some fellow Loudoun Countyians with him on the flat boats. Maybe your ancestor was one of these. Maybe his future son-in-law also. He was JOHN COOPER b 7 Jul1775 Baltimore Md m 2 Oct 1800 Fayette to MARY SPURR. Three of SPURR's children settled on 800 acres (per his will) near Ruckerville (Clark Co Ky). I am seeking parents, family, etc of JOHN COOPER who d 17 Jan 1819 Clark Co Ky, probally of war of 1812 woulds, etc. His wife MARY d 31 Aug 1873.

I am seeking information about Thomas Philander BARCLAY (born b1839) and his father-in-law Jonas Huber RHORER (born 1841). Both were active in various Presbyterian churchs in Kentucky. BARCLAY was an Elder and a minister. Were either ever a member of Walnut Hills? I have a copy of the Session Minute Book of the Presbyterian Church of Pewee Valley (Oldhan Co., KY) 1866-1901 and would be willing to look up information for anyone interested. Margie Barclay, New York City
In 1805 there is a John Kersey listed in the Lexington Gazette as John Kersey, tailor from Richmond, VA. He disappears from Fayette County before the 1806 tax rolls. Does anyone have any information on this man? He may be the John Kersey and wife Keziah who moved to Jessamine County, KY in 1805/6. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, MichaelAnne Guido
In 1787 John Skirvin appears on the tax rolls of Fayette County, KY. Before that he appears from 1773-1785 on the Loudoun County, VA tithable lists living in Cameron Parish. I am seeking any additional information available on John Skirvin in Fayette County, KY. He and his family moved to Pendleton County, KY in 1808. Thanks so much. Sincerely, MichaelAnne Guido
Hi, I am new to the list and need some historical information on John Martin. He founded Martin's Fort (which was eventually captured by the British and Indians). John Martin was not captured during this attack. He was away hunting at the time and he thereafter moved to Lexington, KY. He was written about in the 1799 Lexington Gazette and is noted in the early acts of the Legislature of Kentucky as living before 1800 in Fayette County. I am seeking information on this man and his family as I believe they moved to Pendleton County, KY and one of his sons may be my ancestor from Pendleton County. This man Elijah Martin founded the Owen County, KY Martin line. If anyone has any information about John Martin could you please contact me? Thanks so much. Sincerely, MichaelAnne Guido
Do you have any Berryman or Puckett's listed. We should all take a moment to reflect upon what this holiday is all about, other than babeball, cookouts, and family reunions. As a Veteran, I am proud to be an American, and to be able to reflect on the true meaning of the 4th of July. Dick Carter rcar37@prodigy.net
Roxanne...you may have just given me a major clue as to why I can't go back anyfurther than Indiana. It's so simple I'm kicking myself...the different spelling is a real possibility. ----- Original Message ----- From: ROGUE8357@aol.com To: KYFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, July 02, 2000 2:03 AM Subject: Re: [KYFAYETT]Stone Palace & Walnut Hill Church Records Dear Shirl, I'm afraid all I found were "Stuarts".
