>From THE BLUEGRASS HISTORIAN, INAUGURAL ISSUE, author unknown: 10 Ways You Know You're Taking Genealogy Too Seriously: 10. You decided to take a two-week break from genealogy and the U.S, Post Office immediately laid off 150 employees. 9. A magical genie appears and agrees to grant your any one wish, and you ask that the 1890 census be restored. 8. You plod merrily along "refining" your recently published family history, blissfully unaware that the number of errata pages now far exceeds the number of pages in your original publication. 7. You are the only person to show up at the cemetary research party witha shovel. 6. Out of respect for your best friend's reputation for honesty, you are willing to turn off that noisy surveillance camera while she reviews your 57 genealogical research notebooks. The armed security gueard however, will remain. 5. You were instrumental in having "non-genealogical use of the genealogy room copy machine" classified as a federal hate crime. 4. "A Loving Family" and "Financial Security" have moved up to second and third, respectively, on your list of life's goals, but still lag far behind "Owning My Own Microfilm Reader". 3. During an ice storm and power outage, you ignore the pleas of your shivering spouse and place your last quilt around that 1886 photograph of dear Uncle George. 2. To put the "final touches" on your genealogical research, you've asked all of your closest relatives to provide DNA samples. 1. Ed McMahon, several TV cameras and an envelope from Publishers Clearing House arrive at your front door on Super Bowl Sunday, and the first thing you say is "Are you related to the McMahons of Ohio?".

Hunts & Hamtons are some of the Fayette county names I am looking for or have some information about. I am particularly looking for a birth date for George Hunt, who was born ca. 1759 in NC. George lived in Fayette County from about 1785, and is said to have died of Cholera in 1833. There is a bit of a puzzle about this because the Lexington 'Observer & Reporter' of 11 July 1833 shows George Hunt in a list of Cholera deaths in Lawrenceburg and Anderson Co., KY for June and July 1833 -- but George lived in Fayette Co. No gravestones have been found for George and his second wife Mary Mason, albeit the Lexington, KY, Cemetery has many graves for his descendants. If anyone can help with a lookup somehow/someway, I'd be very grateful. George is said to be twin of my ggggmother, but we won't have "proof" until we find his death notice or a certificate/list/something legal. Thanks very much, Kathryn

Tammy, they aren't yet. I'm trying to connect my Delaware Cnty, IN Stewarts to the Lexington area where it looks like they came from. Since I haven't yet been able to identify my gggrandmother I'm up against the wall. However, all the Stewarts in that area seem to come from Fayette Cnty. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tfree1965@aol.com To: KYFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2000 10:56 PM Subject: Re: [KYFAYETT] Roll Call The Stewart's i have are Lucy Stewart who married Charles Freeman from KY. Researching the Beach families of Fayette County, KY 1800-1840. I am particularly interested in the Henry Beach that married Mrs. sally Stafford on March 26, 1834 in Fayette County and his ancestry. There were at least two Beach lines in Fayette Count in this period. There was a James Beach who was a famous Coach maker that lived in Lexington, KY 1825-1843. I believe him to be the James Beach who died in Lexington in 1843. He came to Fayette County from New Jersey. His line continued in Fayette County through the 1870s. There was also at least one Virginia line in Fayette County at this time. There may be two. Sally Stafford Beach was married once before she married Henry Beach to a Stafford. I have been unable to locate a marriage bond for this marriage so far. Henry Beach was born in Fayette or Woodford County, KY in 1810. His parents according to the 1880 census were from Virginia. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, MichaelAnne Guido Othere Fayette County lines: Skirvin Kersey Chapman Martin

Hello Shirley and List, Thank you for such a quick response. I apologies for my lack of HAMMOND's. I did not find a HAMMOND on your list that I recognized. How ever I do have a few questions for you. Where did your HAMMOND's and McDANIELS come from. The reason I ask this is because if you noticed I have a HAMMOND married to a DANIELS which supposedly came from Wales. I have been trying to locate and track down my HAMMOND and DANIELS line between Kentucky and Indiana. We may have had A name modification, but I really think that my HAMMOND and DANIELS line were in Kentucky at one point in time. I really appreciate our hard work and effort and look forward to continuing our dialog. Dennis W.
