Dear Hank, No, I'm afraid I don't have any "Sams" in my Armstrong line. But I think I have encountered your Sam & Polly Rice during my research before. It seems like there were dozens of Armstrongs in the Fayette Co. area. If you'd like, if I see anything about them again, I'll forward it to you. Good luck! Roxanne
Hello, I am researching my mothers history, the info that she gave me is very little, so any suggestions or help will be very welcome! My mother was raised by a aunt named anna(nick named joanna) she died in 1944 in Ks. Her obit out of the paper said she had two sisters, mary wilson in oklahoma, and mamie talbert in lexington,ky. My mother says she remembers her aunt mary from ok. but not mamie, she said she remembers a "nannie" in lexington ,ky. My guess is the paper made a goof, and I did find a nannie talbert in the kentucky death index, but thats it, I can't find her anywhere else. She died March 7,1948 would I be able to get a death certificate with this info? I checked the social security site and she is not in their. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can get more info on her I would appreciate it very much! Thanks! Kat
I'm looking for marriage records on Burns Turner also seen as Bevins or Bevin Turner. Also for birth records on Jane Turner, daughter of the above. Parents names, dates, etc is what I'm after. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Shirl unicorn@ezworks.net
On Feb. 16, 1765 in Augusta County, VA Jane McPheeters was born to Alexander McPheeters and Jane Campbell. She had several siblings including a sister named Martha McPheeters who married Adam Rankin. Jane McPheeters married on Nov. 18, 1796 in Fayette (?) County, KY Hugh Garrett born May 29, 1759 in VA(?). They moved to Woodford County, KY where they had several children. My primary interest is in their daughter Jane Garrett born Dec. 10, 1807 in Woodford County, KY. She married John F. Kennedy on Nov. 15, 1827 in Woodford County, KY (bond posted Nov. 9, 1827) who died before Oct. 25, 1834 in Woodford County, KY. She then married Robert A. Rankin (probably the grandson of Martha McPheeters and Adam Rankin) on May 23, 1837, in Woodford County, KY. Can anyone supply any other information on either of these marriages. I am looking for conclusive proof of the identity of Robert A. Rankin's parents and a full list of children for the Kennedy and Rankin marriages. Hugh Garrett remarried in Woodford County, KY on Oct. 20, 1842 a Catherine Wilson. Her divorce was not finalized at the time and they were remarried on April 11, 1843 in Woodford County, KY. Hugh Garrett left a will in Woodford County dated July 19, 1847, which was disproved in 1848. I am looking for other information on this family. Sincerely, MichaelAnne Guido

I understand you did not list a Samuel Armstrong in your most wanted, but could not resist asking if this individual might be among your Armstrong group. Samuel Armstrong married Polly Rice March 14, 1815 in Montgomery County but were from both, Fayette and Bourbon Counties. On March 26, 1834, a marriage bond was posted in Fayette County, KY by Henry Beach and James Birch for the marriage of Henry Beach to Mrs. Sally Stafford. No proof of age was needed for the bride as she had been previously married. Henry Beach born in 1810 is my third great-grandfather. I need to find not only Henry Beach's line but also James Birch. This Birch family moved to Grant County, KY with Henry Beach and his daughter Sarah Ann Beach born in 1838 married Stephen Birch. There were other marriages further down the lineage also between these two families. I know Henry Beach was born in Fayette County, KY and his parents were born in Virginia. I would like to know more about the James Birch family. I am positive there is a connection between these two men. Does anyone have any information on James Birch? Also does anyone have a male Stafford that married a Sarah in Fayette County before 1830? I am unfamiliar with Staffords in Fayette County. I know the Woodford County line. Thanks so much. Any information on these people is a great help no matter how small or trivial it may seem. Sincerely, MichaelAnne Guido

I am looking for the son or grandchildren of Gertrude Armstrong and William Jenkins. Gertrude died on September 6, 1930 at the age of 38. She had one son, William Jenkins Jr. I do not know how old he was at the time of her death. To my knowledge, she lived in the Lexington, Kentucky area all of her life. She is buried in the Lexington cemetery. G. Smith gssmith@bellsouth.net
I am searching for information on the descedant of Charlie Jones and Hulda Parker. Hulda was the daughter of James Parker and Georgia Spaulding. On the 1920 Mercer County, Kentucky census it list Charlie as being 38 and Hulda as being 31years old. The children listed are ? son 14 William son 13 Joe son 11 ? daughter 9 Lee son 8 Katherin daughter 4 Fred son 2 It is hard to read the names on this copy of the census so I am not sure that these are right but it should give an idea of some of the names anyway. I am told that she had more than 8 children but I have no more names. This family may have gone to Fayette County, Kentucky as most of the family did. G. Smith gssmith@bellsouth.net
