Need parentage of Nancy W McWilliams, who married George Nutterfield, 6-24-1803, in Shelby Co., Ky. I Have her Name as Nancy Steppe Williams from family papers of Son Goalson Nutterfield, and the record shows Nancy W.McWilliams. Which is right?(What does the W stand for?) Also, a Nancy McWilliams is shown marrying Andrew Black 4-2-1801, and a Robert Simonton 8-25-1802... Are these 2 different women, or are they all, one and the same. Also, need parentage for George Nutterfield. Dick Carter rcar37@prodigy.net Dick Carter rcar37@prodigy.net
Fellow researchers, I've updated my "Early Families of Bourbon County, Kentucky" web site by listing families alphabetically rather than by year of arrival in Bourbon County. Also, you will note a LOT more family lines. I have listed the family by earliest ancestor. To date, the total number of people listed on my web site is in excess of 34,400. This does NOT represent the entire listing of my Early Families Project, which should amount to approximately 50,000 names by the time I am finished. There are several families that I have yet to input into my database; so, if you do not find your family there, take heart, it will probably appear before the year end. I encourage you to download files and look them over carefully. If you find wrong entries and/or data, please contact me. On April 9, 1827, Sarah Tilton married Joseph Stafford in Fayette County, KY. Bondsman was Jabez Beach. Consent was also given by Jabez Beach for her marriage as her guardian. On March 26, 1834, Sarah Tilton Stafford Beach married Henry Beach with James H. Birch as Bondsman. On the 1830 census of Fayette County Jabez Beach is shown living in Lexington and there are males in the household that are between 15-20 years old which could well be Henry Beach. Henry was born ca. 1810 and Jabez Beach was born on June 22, 1792. Jabez Beach married a Maria Tillou. He is a brother to James Beach and Joseph Beach of Lexington. Can anyone help me make the connection with the Beach family or tell me why Jabez Beach was legal guardian of Sarah Tilton? Jabez Beach moved on to Illinois and died on Sept. 4, 1864 in Pleasant Plains, IL. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, MichaelAnne Guido
I am trying to find any information regarding a Lula (maiden name unknown) BEGLEY. Lula was the 2nd wife of my grandfather, Matthew "Matt" BEGLEY[son of Albert BEGLEY and Mary (WARREN) BEGLEY]. Lula is listed as the surviving spouse of my grandfather in his 1954 obituary printed in the Jackson County, KY newspaper, 'Jackson County Sun'. My grandfather passed away on June 30, 1954 in Sand Gap, Jackson County, Kentucky. I do not know Lula's maiden name, nor do I know when or where she and my grandfather, Matthew "Matt" BEGLEY, were married. If anyone has any information on Lula (maiden name unknown) BEGLEY, or my grandfather, Matthew "Matt" BEGLEY, please contact me. Thank you, Debbie
Hi List folks! I am forwarding two messages to the list--they both look pretty interesting! Thanks, and good luck, Christine (the listowner) formerly in Chicago, now in Lexington! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear List Owner: I have started a new mailing list called KY-Cemeteries. It is a mailing list for anyone interested in locating, and preserving historical information about, Kentucky cemeteries or sharing information about them. To subscribe to this list - have your members send the word subscribe to KY-Cemeteries-L-request@rootsweb.com or KY-Cemeteries-D-request@rootsweb.com for the digest form. I look forward to helping this list grow and become another tool for those researching in Kentucky. Kathleen Burnett List Mom ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear List Members: The Woodford County Historical Society has a "new and improved" web site. Stop by and take a look; www.rootsweb.com/~kywchs/woodfordpage.htm Danna Estridge, who is our curator at the library and museum, has redesigned the site and in my opinion has done an excellent job. Danna has included information about the research materials we have at our library, publications for sale, membership information and the upcoming events such as the "Historical Homes Tour" December 9th, 2000. We also hope that you can stop by in person and visit us soon at our library. We will assist in any way we can with your research of your "Woodford County Roots."
