Shannon, Sorryit took me so long. There are NO Gormleys or McManamans in Fayette in 1850, but in 1860 they are found in all surrounding counties. (at least the Gormleys) Are you sure about the spelling McManaman? Zahn
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Will and Emma CUPPLES which was taken at their home in Butte, MT in 1904. Notes indicate that they are "Uncle and Aunt" and that Will is "My Mother's Brother". In addition, someone has indicated that "Will died of Miners TB" and "Aunt Emma died in a Sanatorium". The photograph includes their two dogs as well. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this couple: William Pearce CUPPLES was b. 27 Feb 1872 in Pike or Curwensville, PA to parents Clara Jane CALDWELL (1844-1929) and Andrew Jackson or James CUPPLES (1842-1917). William was one of 8 children born to this couple including, Elsie or Elcy Ann; Hannah Mary; Dora Catherine; William P.; Emery or Emory Isaac; Olive "Ollie" Jane; Susan Belle; and Fred Keough or Keogh CUPPLES, all born between 1867 and 1883. William married Emma MCVEY or MCVAY (b. 1869 in Lexington, KY - dau of Owen MCVAY) on 1 Sept 1900 in Elkhorn, MT and they had two children including Melville CUPPLES (1914-1963). William died 29 Oct 1930 in Gallatin, MT and is buried in the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman, MT. Emma died 13 Jan 1923 in Deer Lodge, MT and William remarried 5 Jan 1924 to Annie CUPPLES b. Kansas City, MO the daughter of Sam JOHNSON and Annie MATTISON. Annie was 42 years old at the time of her marriage to William. Census records provide the following details: 1910 census of Butte, MT: W. P. CUPPLE, age 38, married 10 years, born PA, parents born PA, a Copper Miner Emma CUPPLE, wife, age 43, married 10 years, no children, born KY, parents born MD 1920 census of Warm Springs, MT: - Montana State Hospital Emma CUPPLES, age 50, born KY, parents born KY, an inmate 1930 census of Bozeman, MT: T. F. HENEGAN, age 78, born 1852, born PA, parents born PA Hanna HENEGAN, wife, age 61, born 1869, born PA, parents born PA Paul HENEGAN, son, age 30, born 1900, born MT Wanda HENEGAN, dau, age 23, born 1907, born MT William B. CUPPLES, brother, age 58, born 1872, born PA, parents born PA I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Hello all, I'm doing some DNA research and want to find direct male descendants of William Cooper, born March 1763 in New Jersey but moved to Kentucky and married Rebecca Worley Gay in Fayette County on Jan. 15, 1807. I know of 3 sons: Daniel (1808-1833), William (1810-1875), and Joshua (1812-?). Daniel and Joshua appear to have died childless. William (1810-1875) married 3 times. First wife: Elizabeth Stevenson. One son: James Stevenson Cooper (1830-?). I see James with his parents (William and third wife Susan) in District 1, Fayette County in the 1850 census (age 19), and again with his parents in District 2, Fayette County in the 1860 census (age 27), I think I see the family in Leesburg, Harrison County in the 1870 census, he's still with his parents, and then in 1880 there's a James S. Cooper in Dog Fennel, Fayette County, so it looks like he died unmarried and childless. Second wife: Isabella Atkinson. One son: John Atkinson Cooper (1836-). I see John with his parents in the 1850 and 1860 censuses. He moved to Mississippi and I'm following him there. Third wife: Susan J. Rochester. Two sons: William Rochester Cooper (1844-1894) and Albert S. Cooper (1846-1869). William Rochester Cooper moved to Virginia and married Lena Lawson, I'm suspecting they had no children but I'm not sure. Albert died relatively young, and probably had no children. So it looks to me like there are no surviving male descendants of William Cooper (1763-). Does anyone have resources that might prove me wrong? Thanks so much for any help! Chris

Robert According to one person that attended Picadome there were two, Big and Little. Carter Hi, I grew up in Lexington in the 1960's and went to Picadome when there was "Big Picadome" and "Little Picadome" elementary schools. I have fond memories of living on Springhill Drive and running around barefoot all summer with my friends. We used to go to what they called a "park" at Big Picadome on summer vacation which by the way seemed like it lasted forever back then. It was just activities for kids during summer break. We played Ping Pong and Horseshoes and had softball games and watermelon feasts. I believe that there were two junior highs back then, Morton Junior High and Lexington Junior High. I also believe that the students from Morton Junior High would go to Henry Clay High School and the students from Lexington Junior High would go to Lafayette High School. There usually wouldn't be another school between those two! Most elementary schools go from K-6th grade, sometimes stopping at 5th grade.
