I am having a very hard time finding any information on Orville Scott Clark b. Lexington 1810. He married Cynthia Gooch in 1830 and moved to Missouri. He died there in 1859. I know nothing about his parents or siblings. Can anyone out there help? Patty
Debbie, Do you know where he was buried. If it was the Lexington Cemetery, you can check the records there on line. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Debbie Gurtis" <dgurtis@charter.net> To: <KYFAYETT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 04, 2006 9:07 PM Subject: Re: [KYFAYETT] Dry Cleaning Business in Lexington > His name was James Edward Collins. My first cousin owned a dry cleaning business in Lexington in the 1950's. I would like to try and find information about his business ( to include in our family history), but I'm not exactly sure where to look. Any suggestions? Thanks, Debbie
Let me preface this first. I don't think I am out of line on this one. This is definitely genealogy related! Does anyone have a list of nick names given to given names? I believe that it might help us all in our research. Jane Foley
Jane, Thanks for sharing the list of old time expressions. Some people might ask what they have to do with family history but the language we use is part of the heritage of culture, both family and ethnic/regional, that has been handed down to us. It is a direct link with those family members we are interested in learning more about. Mary
