    2. thank you..i spent alot of time in there in the from the late 60s til my grandmother passed away in 1986..my father was military (Mom's son) and when my father retired from the Army in 1986 they stayed over in the Ft knox Area and i married a military man in the early 80s and i have not been back (except to visit) since 1988.. In a message dated 1/24/2007 3:06:45 PM US Mountain Standard Time, Cdelliott52183@aol.com writes: Mom's Loudon Lunch is still there. The building is quite small....probably about 30 feet long and seems very narrow. I'm not sure how many people can be served at any given time. Because parking is quite an issue, most of the customers are folks who work nearby and can walk to the restaurant.

    3. hello everyone I just moved to Lexington and bought my first house and decided to research my neighborhood area as I did my ancestors. (None from this area.. sorry!) I've already gone through the links on KYFayette website and gathered the all the information I could find from over there.. and don't know the next step to take. Has anyone researched previous owners of your property or your town? Any hints? I suppose I got the idea from watching "If Walls Could Talk" on HGTV. :) My deed has Joseph Dinelli as the purchaser of the property in 1904. I was able to find lots of interesting newspaper articles about him over on the Lexington Public Library site. He owned quite a few properties and rented them out. He was a confectioner and grocer.. was living with his daugher on N. Limestone in 1920 and died in 1930 when his horse and wagon were hit head on by an automobile near Winchester and 7th. He's buried next to his wife in Lexington Cemetary. While I was there I also learned a little bit about the history of the Charles Young Center and the park which I'm understanding was the old Goodloe property? I found that it was given to the African American community in 1930 after Dr David S Goodloe passed in 1925? I do live by Goodloe Street but they had that he actually lived on 3rd so I'm wondering if it was at one time a Goodloe estate/farm before it was split up into streets and homes were built? My street doesn't show up on the 1886 map but does on the 1896 map. The only other thing I could find on my specific property was a woman by the name of Mrs Bell Forest that lived here passing away in 1952... under "colored notes" (excuse the term) so far. If you have any history about Goodloe or Dinelli.. or even Bell Forest.. specifically any local gossip about the area I'm researching around the Midland and Winchester split between 3rd and Goodloe I'd appreciate it. 1. Re: [KYFAYETT] 1860-1880 Marriages
    2. Thank you for checking on this, Connie. Since my original post, I have found some circumstantial evidence to indicate Mary Riley's second marriage was to Andrew Cadwalader, who subsequently died in 1883, in Lexington. He is buried at the Lexington Cemetery and probably was the brother of George Cadwalader, whose wife was Mary Ellen (both also buried there). I still have no proof of this, though, and more specific to my line, I have no clue who the Payton/Peyton might have been. -----Original Message----- From: kyfayett-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:kyfayett-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Connie Shotts Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 5:35 PM To: kyfayett@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYFAYETT] 1860-1880 Marriages I have a subscription to Ancestry.com and was able to check marriage records for you there. 3. Looking for information on Mary Moore Price. She formerly lived in Franklin County, Virginia. May have died between 1810 and 1820. Her husband was William Price and her father was Francis Moore (of Orange County Virginia 1718-1796). Her son Larkin Price died sometime around 1820. He was born in Franklin County Virginia, moved to Woodford County KY and may have died in Fayette County KY. I am looking for wills and inventories of this mother and son. Cynthia A. 3. Hello A.J. Thanks so much for writing. Yes, Julia is the daughter of Henry P. Buford and ALL of us BUFORDs are connected. Richard was the immigrant who came to America in 1635 as Richard Beauford and he would be so very astonished to see all of us now. I certainly would be interested in what you have as I am a firm believer that all the collateral families are as important as the Buford half of the family. My gggGrandmother was a McDOWELL and the daughter of Judge Samuel McDowell who wrote the first constitution for Kentucky in 1792 and Kentucky's first Circuit Court Judge. The McDowell family is as note worthy as the Buford family. There are a lot of pages in my book dedicated to the McDowell family. There are a lot of Buford families still living in Missouri. The cemetery at Waverly is full of them. Love to hear from you, Fern If you reply to rumycuzn@bresnan.net you can send attachments. I will try to include your information in my next update to the Buford Site. Thanks again ----- Original Message ----- From: "A. J. 3. Pardon my sticking my nose in your conversation, but for some years I have been researching my small hometown of Higbee, Randolph Co., MO. It takes its name from a Joseph Higbee family, probably of Jessamine Co, KY, and one of Joseph's daughters married a John Bourn. In fact I've found in the census that apparently his mother and a couple of his brothers settled in what became the Higbee vicinity (J. Higbee died ca l849.) A couple of sources mention a Bournsville/Bernsville, that I'm thinking was a stage stop operated by the son-in-law. Today, as you probably know, there are Higbee's and Bourn's living and/or buried in Clark and Scotland Co's in extreme northeast MO, to where those who once lived in Randolph Co apparently moved after Mr. Higbee's death. Just thought you'd like to know. P. S. I have several ancestors who came to MO from VA via KY. Those in and around Fayette Co would have been the Dudley family and their kin.

    3. Hello to all: My research of my ancestors has brought to me to this list and I wish to share with you some of my discoveries as I try to establish what is true and what is myth! Perhaps some of you will find it of interest and, more importantly, for me... perhaps you can help me learn more. To start: Luke USHER was my gggg grandfather and Noble Luke USHER, his son, my ggg grandfather. A simple search online seems to indicate that the USHERs were 'prominent' in Lexington/and perhaps other places in KY.. in the early 1800s..especially in reference to the start of the theatre(theater). I am hoping those of you reading this message can point me to ANY interesting tidbits of their lives that can help me learn more. I just now looked at http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyfayett/fayette.htm and see there are some details that I must check...but I thought I would post here first to let all know who I am researching..... I probably will be back with more specific questions......... Am hoping that my research of the USHER name will spark some interest...... Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for any info...
