    3. Thanks, Bob, I like the ease in downloading whatever looks especially interesting so one can study it at length when time permits. Of the lines I have selected, most of the attachments had something I could compare and use. The WHALEYs and the TALBOTTs brought together some loose ends. They move in and out of both my husband's and my own lines. I can add to Elizabeth WHALEY & Bernard SEARS. He had become quite well known for his wood carvings at Mount Vernon, Gunston Hall, Pohunk Church and other very elegant colonial and federal buildings. I have some recent architectural articles abouthis life and accomplishments. He often worked with Goin LANPHIER/ LAMPHIER, and their children married: DESCENDANCY CHART FOR WILLIAM BERNARD SEARS - PAF.PAF 22 Jan 2000 Page 1 of 3 ============================================================ ============================================== Name (Birth/Chr.-Death/Burial) Birth/Chr. 1. [KYFAYETT] Fayette Co advice needed
    2. Ernie/Jeanne Arguelles
    3. Hi All, This is a sort of complicated query... I'll try to explain briefly, but please read! My Robert William ROBBS was b.1859 in Canada, came to the States c1867, and ended up in Boston, MA by 1886 or earlier. He was a horse dealer, and apparently had business dealings in Lexington. On the 1900 Boston census, he has the following KY folks living in his household: William C. MOORE, Servant, white, b. May 1875 in KY, both parents b. KY James PARKS, Hostler, black, b. May 1881 in KY, parents b. KY Logan GOLDEN, Hostler, black, b. Mar 1848 KY, parents b. KY When Robert W. ROBBS died in Boston in 1915, his obit in the Boston Globe said "Copy to Lexington, KY Times". As far as family members can remember, Robert W. ROBBS never actually lived in KY... but apparently he spent enough time there to warrant an obit being published there. Does anyone know of a resource I could check to see what kind of records he may have left? Would the buying/selling/shipping of horses be recorded in the deed books?? Are there any books that include info on the horse industry in Fayette Co? Has anyone heard of any of the people in this message? Any advice would be a great big help! Thanks! RICHARD SHORES died in 1840 in FAYETTE CO KY. SUSANNAH SIMPSON SHORES died in 1842 in FLEMING CO. KY and was buried in FAYETTE CO. KY. Does anyone have a will that will confirm the relationship between RICHARD AND SUSANNAH SHORES AND JANE SHORES NICHOLAS? I have info on descendants of JOURDAN NICHOLAS, especially his son WILLIAM S. 3. Christen, The time frame is pretty close; however, the Elizabeth CARTER I am looking for md Andrew RICHARDS, 27 Feb 1810, in Champaign Co, OH. His family were in northern KY a few years before, so I'm guessing that hers most likely were too. Almost all of the early settlers in Champaign Co were in KY for a while before they went to OH, it seems. Many of them had been in Greenbrier Co., VA(now WV) prior to that. Thanks for your reply. Maybe these Elizabeths are cousins, or, something. 2. Granny and Mac
    3. We have records that show my husband's grandmother as Fanny Bellewood (his mother's birth certificate shows the grandmother's maiden name as Bellewood) However, one of her children's obituaries says her maiden name was Aldrich. They all say she was born in Lexington, K Y. She married Clyde Adelbert Knapp in 1807and on the application she says her name is Eldridge. She married him in Lexington, Ky. She also said she had half brothers, Willy and Narvy Garrett who was born in Lexington, Ky. We do know that Narvy's parents were George Garrett and Ellen Harlow. Is there any way we can inquire about a birth certificate (June 5, 1884) since we're not sure of her real name? If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Annie

    1. [KYFAYETT] Lt Walkers Rangers /Davidson Co Rangers for Territory of US South Of Ohio.
    2. RICHARD CARTER
    3. Hello: I have had many postings on many lists for above referenced information. Some have been irritated, Some have been interested, some had never heard of it, and many have offerred me much good information. Many have asked me to post what I find out. This posting is in response to those requests that I post My info. The U S Congress, in May of 1790, proclaimed the territory formerly claimed by North Carolina, That area which is today known as all of Tennessee, Northern Ga, Northern Alabama, and all of Mississippi, as THE TERRITORY OF US SOUTH OF THE RIVER OHIO. aka SOUTHWEST TERRITORY. The Rangers were formed in 1790, and served until 1796, when Tennessee became a state. At that time, the remainder became the TERRITORY of MISSISSIPPI The Rangers were apparently an organization which patrolled, and generally made themselves "useful". Apparently simular to a State Militia. This is all that I have found out at this time. I have received many helpful hints, and suggestions. For these I am very grateful. I am still looking for definite information on George NUTTERFIELD, who enlisted in Lt Walkers company of Rangers in 1792. I have received information from a lady who has a book on the Rangers, and does show George listed. I will keep you updated. Dick Carter [email protected]

    3. Karen, I'm sorry, but I don't have the information you seek. You can place your request as a query on the county query board as well as the Fayette County mailing list (both links are available from the Fayette County page, URL below) and maybe someone will have the answer you seek. Good luck with your research.
