I got on the Genweb site and went to the DAR Index site and plugged some names in my Family Tree and they came up. What I wanted to know is the closest place that the DAR Books are located. I know that I could go to Paris, Kentucky to the Headquarters, but thought I had seen them at the Louisville Public Library or at Kentucky Historical Society in Frankfort, Kentucky. Also, what does this mean? s1 v 277 page 255. I am not sure what is s means but think that the v is for volume. Jeff **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. THANKS Joan! I was trying to figure out what that could be - I know of some VanNorts, and VanMeters, but they seemed too long - Waters works very nicely! Thank you!!! I want to see a real film that would have Oct. 4 1801 marriage between Robert Lancaster and Nancy Booth that I could make a copy. This would be in Jessamine County next to Fayette. The Church Library would order a film for me if I knew what to ask. The Filson Club in Louisville may have a film. I know Woodford County had a film on Tobias Willhoite married to Nancy Margaret Ellis in 1801. As of the moment I have Ellis, Jeptha and Elizabeth Lancaster as children of Robert Lancaster and Nancy Boothe. Ellis Lancaster listed an Elizabeth keeping house for him in the 1870 Census. Not sure when Ellis's wife died. She was Susannah A Perkins. Susan listed as Mother was living in Walter Luther Lancaster's house in 1860.

Robert Lancaster and Nancy Boothe were born in Orange County, VA In the 1850 Census they were in Owen County. I can not find their graves and needed some help. In the KY Death Record, 1852-1953 Nancy is listed as died 28 Aug 1852, age 78, b c 1774 with a father listed as W Boothe. I haven't found Robert's death date. I know one child was Ellis Lancaster married to Susannah A Perkins. Ellis is listed as born 1808 in Fayette County so I am hoping some kind soul will have some information. I have looked in Eternal Rest Cemetery Book for Owen and also in the 1000F Cemetery and they are not there. One of Ellis's son Walter Luther Lancaster and wife Effie J Willhoite are in 1000F.
(Thanks to the list admin for allowing me to post this). I am currently putting together a historical project for Arcadia Publishing, documenting some of the changes in Lexington over the past 150 years - the loss of the horse farms, etc. I am searching for old photographs of houses, schools, churches etc – buildings and places rather than people. I wondered if any of the list subscribers might have photos that I could borrow. ALL photos will be scanned electronically and then returned to the owners. Credit will be given as appropriate. While I’m on the subject, for those who are interested, the University of Kentucky has a fabulous collection of photos available for viewing online at the Kentuckiana Digital Library. The Lexington Public Library also has some wonderful photos but unfortunately no facilities for the public to scan or obtain them digitally. Robert, I was born in 1939, attended Little Picadome on Harrodsburg Road, (a one story brick school house next door to the old Little Picadome which was a white frame one story, boarded up), Big Picadome at the juncture of Harrodsburg and Claysmill (a two or three story brick building now raised), Lafayette Junior High, a series of long low concrete block buildings behind the high school (grades 7-9) and Lafayette High School, the big building in front. Elaine >>> rrothenbuhler@austin.rr.com 12/31/07 3:37 PM >>> Hi List, I was born (1942) and raised in Lexington, Fayette County, KY. I remember attending Picadome Elementary School and then Lafayette School. We moved out of KY in 1956 when I started the 9th grade, so the 8th grade was the last. I don't remember a school between these two schools. My question is...was there a school that I attended after Picadome and before Lafayette? If so, what was the name?
