    3. According to "Kentucky Ancestors" Vol. 10, pages 94-97, my ancestor, Daniel Lamson MORRISON (1776-1860) is buried in Old Elmwood Cemetery, Owensboro in the plot with a married daughter, Elizabeth Pigman Morrison CHAMBERS and William W. CHAMBERS, Martha A. CHAMBERS and Sarah CHAMBERS. Last week we passed through Owensboro and visited Elmwood Cemetery to search for the burial site. We found the cemetery without any trouble due to the great directions provided by members of this mailing list. Many thanks to each of you! The Elmwood-Rosehill Cemetery office has a record of the burial of the above listed CHAMBERS family members in Section E, Lot 8 in the historical section of Old Elmwood Cemetery. They have no record for Daniel Lamson MORRISON, but I was told that is not unusual, that many of the old burials prior to the Civil War are not in their cemetery records. We were given a map of the layout of the cemetery and located Section E, Lot 8. We found it centrally located, mowed and well maintained but completely vacant, not one single stone on the lot. There were stones on the adjacent lots, but there was a large, vacant grassy area exactly where my family was supposed to be. We returned to the cemetery office to ask questions. The lady working in the office was very sweet but could not provide any information. She suggested that perhaps the stones had been destroyed by a tornado that hit the cemetery a couple of years ago, that many broken stones had been carted away. We did not have time to remain in Owensboro to search for answers. Can any of you Owensboro residents shed any light on this for me? Thanks for any help. Betty Louisiana
