Redbird is right about Reynolds Station. Those turtles were probably trying to get to The Black Cat, which was/is just across the Ohio county line on 54 (Leitchfield Road in the ol' days). That was an infamous "watering hole" in the 40's (probably years before & since). The area around Whitesville, just up the road in Daviess county was "dry", and The Black Cat's bad reputation made it a very attractive place. Tony Howard
