I found the reason that Davis Douthitt "bled" Mr Richmond's Colt. I Contacted Dr Donald Barnes, A local Veterinarian and he stated that it was a common practice for people to Drain some blood out of a horse if the horse was sickly or not feeling well back during that time peroid .They believed that the horse had bad blood and when the blood was drained that the horses body would replace it with new Good blood.The little Tool that I discribed earlier that was triangular shaped was called a "Lancet". I also learned that Bleeding was also used on humans and may have been a contributing cause of the death of President George Washington. Bob Norris
